The largest public library in Baldwin County was to launch an major fundraising effort to expand both the physical facility and the services offered. First, the general public needed to be made aware of the library and its current services.
Through these television spots and accompanying print ads the Magic Door was introduced to the citizens of Daphne. The services were described and programs held that involved all ages and interests.
While the advertising was successful and many people responded by beginning to utilize library services, the fundraising effort set to begin at the completion of the campaign was postponed indefinitely due to the slumping economy. All indications were that fundraising numbers were down markedly throughout the country.
